What got you interested in beer: I initially got into craft beer when I lived in Toronto for a hockey team. Being a young 19 year old I tried my first craft beer. Once I tried that first beer I was hooked. After that I made it a goal in my life to visit every brewery I possibly can.
Favorite local brewery: My Favorite beer would have to be Rodenbach Grand Cru. Rodenbach Grand Cru, an aged red ale, an almost perfect beer. Lovely ripe notes of cherries and grapes. This beer has a slight acidity and funk to it with even a little sweetness.
What makes Beerhead special: Beerhead is special because it’s a place you can go for any style of beer the heart desires. Whether you like beer or not our staff is knowledgeable to guide you in the right direction.
What would you like the world to know about Beerhead: The world needs to know that at beerhead we can find something you like. It just takes that one special beer to get you hooked. Not anywhere else can you find a staff so helpful and knowledgeable in beer.
Anything else quirky and fun: I have an obsession with Chicago sports (especially the Blackhawks), I have traveled the country of Canada and the United States playing junior hockey in my early 20’s. I have seen a full solar eclipse and now my group of friends and I have been chasing it around the world.
Favorite food to eat with Beer: Beer pairs well with everything food. I’m an avid Pizza, Taco, And Ramen consumer and all pair well. Pizza, I love to pair with a fantastic IPA or pale ale. Tacos I will drink a creamy lager or a floral saison. Ramen can be a very rich and complex dish so I try to go with a complex Belgium Style beer, usually a Dubbel or Quadruple. For Desert I try to go with a chocolate stout or barrel aged stout to load it up on the sweetness.
If you want to drink a local beer I’d choose Alarmist Le Jus, There is a reason why that beer won a gold at the Great American Beer Festival. If I were to visit a brewery locally I’d go to Lagunitas. Based on size alone its one great spectacle to see, plus they just know how to have a good time.
